Beautiful jewelry!

Jennifer A. Ray on May-28-2008
A wonderfully sweet friend recently sent me a beautiful earring and bracelet set, totally unexpectedly.

I was very pleasantly surprised, and she couldn’t have made a better choice for me if I had picked them out myself.  In fact, I kicked myself the moment I opened them as I have the perfect work ensemble to wear them with, and I had just worn that outfit the previous day.

I had to wait a WHOLE week to wear it again!!!  LOL  Torture, I tell you…  The men might laugh at this point, but the women reading undoubtedly know that feeling.

You can see me in the photo on the left modelling the bracelet and earrings at work last week.

My friend put a note in the package saying that her daughter made this special for me, which delighted me even further.

And then I noticed the business card in the little jewelry box it arrived in.  Turns out, my friend’s daughter has an online store where she sells these!

So, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to blog about the jewelry and her store.  Jessica has some darlin pieces there, and the set I received are just beautiful.

Check out her webstore at www.littleblossomdesigns.com!  This one is already in my bookmarks!

Ass Effects product?

Jennifer A. Ray on May-27-2008

When the movie I’m watching cut to commercial a few minutes ago, my attention wandered away from the television screen.

The commercial for something called “Ass Effects” grabbed my attention right back, however!

Turns out, it was actually something called “Aciphex” which is a drug for acid reflux.  But they pronounce it “Ass Effects.”

They can’t have thought that through when they named that product.

Arrived home to hear people screaming in my living room…

Jennifer A. Ray on May-26-2008
Last night, I arrived home just after midnight to the sounds of strangers screwing in my home.

I was quite startled, to say the least.

Then I remembered that I turned the TV on before I left the house this morning. And I had TiVo record Thank You for Smoking earlier today on MAX, so the television was still on that channel.

Apparently, ‘Super Ninja Bikini Babes’ came on just less than an hour ago, and they were right at the climax part of one of their many sex scenes…

Those are the sounds that greeted me when I arrived home.

Of course, I had to watch about 20 minutes of it out of sheer curiosity. These are actual lines from a scene:

“Those are villains from another dimension!”

“Is that the man who wants to have mind-draining sex with me?”

“Step aside earthlings! We only want the nuclear tuna fish lady.”

“Give her to us or prepare to die!”

“Super Ninja Dolls – GO!!!!”

“You are very strong, Ninja Doll. You must have recharged your sexual energy.”

Around that point, I switched over to My Super Ex-Girlfriend…  LOL

Oh, I love that swirl…

Jennifer A. Ray on May-18-2008
Nope, I’m not talking about Jerry Seinfeld’s signature move from his hit series!  LOL

I went to Arby’s today and got a Berry Delight Swirl Shake.  I’m a sucker for anything fruity, so I couldn’t resist when I read the description of this frozen treat.

From Arbys.com:  “Raspberries, blueberries, strawberries and blackberries, oh my!  This refreshing fruit shake is made with all those delightful flavors swirled together and chilled to perfection.”

The flavor absolutely bursts with berry goodness, no joke…  It was bright, refreshing, and tasty enough that I’ll go back again just for that shake even though my Chicken Cordon Bleu was overly salty and my potato cakes were inedible.  The Berry Delight Swirl Shake, however, is a keeper.  Too bad it is only offered for a limited time.

This just made my day!

Jennifer A. Ray on May-17-2008

OMG, I am so tickled about this I am just giggling!  Bianca D’Arc blogged today about the dedication in her newest book in the DRAGON KNIGHTS series, FIREDRAKE.  I’m tickled because she was really, really sweet and put lil’ ol’ me in the dedication!

But I’ll let her tell you all about it…  Check out her blog today:  FireDrake – the Dedication.

Excuse excitement, but I have to admit I feel like that little girl on the old Shake N Bake commercials who exclaims, “And I helped!” in the cutest little southern accent!

Thanks, Bianca!

I am losing my sympathy…

Jennifer A. Ray on May-8-2008

I am losing my sympathy for the squirrels.  I used to feel so sad for them when I saw little squirrel bodies on the side of the road.  At least, I felt sad until I began encountering the little suicidal/daredevil squirrels more frequently myself.

I brake for squirrels and other animals, always have.  I don’t want to hurt them, kill them, or even frighten the little things.  But it is damn hard not to when they dart right out in front of your car.

Once again this morning, a little kamikaze squirrel ran in front of my car.  When I stopped, he froze.  When I started to ease around him, he again darted right in front of my car.  I’m sure I heard him singing that Cowboy Troy song ‘I Played Chicken With the Train’!  LOL

Are these squirrels who are just tired of living?  Are they little thrill-seeker squirrels?  Or is this some squirrel gang initiation rite they must pass before they make it into the gang?

Or is my imagination running away with me again?  LOL
